The Heritage Alliance’s first International Report in 2018 charted the widespread activities of its members from Antarctica to Venice, from China to the USA. When asked what prevented them from doing more, funding was the most frequently cited barrier. Some members commented on the reluctance of UK charities to fund overseas study and research.
The International Heritage Funding Directory is another step towards encouraging heritage NGOs and others to take a more active role in fostering international relations through heritage and benefiting themselves in the process.
Previously only available as a standalone PDF, the International Funding Directory has been incorporated into the full original Heritage Funding Directory to substantially increase the number of listings for heritage work at home and abroad. Find these funds by filtering ‘Geographical Area’ to ‘International’.
With greatest thanks to Heritage Alliance member and former Chief Executive, Kate Pugh, for compiling a brilliant list of international funding sources.
