The fund will support a broad cross-section of projects and a wide variety of groups. It hopes to improve the quality of life for Derbyshire residents and tackle inequalities and disadvantages faced in local communities.
There is a preference to support groups operating in rural areas or projects focusing on heritage and arts & culture.
Examples of grants made
- £2,000 to a village hall to install new central heating to create a use-able meeting space
- £1,000 to purchase new toys for a parent & toddler group in an isolated rural community
- £1,700 for guide booklets exploring a new industrial heritage walk in the peak district
