SPAB Newcombe Fund for almshouse repair

The SPAB’s Newcombe Fund is for repairs to almshouses that continue in their historic use. The almshouses do not have to be listed but are more likely to be considered if they are.

The main condition is that the grant is for specific repairs to the historic fabric and not for alteration.
All grants are discretionary. In reaching a decision SPAB’s Trustees look for clear evidence that the proposed works are based on a sound understanding of SPAB Approach to building conservation.
