Since the NMCT was founded in 1990 it has awarded grants of over £4m which have enabled the conservation of thousands of historical, literary, scientific, architectural and other vital documents that would otherwise have been lost or faced an uncertain future.

Eligible applicants are non-national libraries, museums and archives, university libraries, and specialist collecting institutions. Where feasible we like projects that we support to have a training element, e.g. internship for early career conservator, paid placement for conservation student.
